Ask Who, Not How

Mar 01, 2022

For the last couple of weeks, my articles have been focused on achieving exponential results faster by avoiding perfectionism and getting in your own way. Many of us suffer from this common phenomenon. We never get started because we want a new project to be perfect with guaranteed results before even beginning. And that can cost you a lot of time trying to make the project perfect rather than taking action.

You are in one of two situations. In the first situation, you have more time than money. In this case, you will likely dabble, have a lot of trial and error, and get stuck in paralysis analysis. Your growth will be slow, and you will learn a lot along the way. The road will not be easy. And results will also be slow and steady. Not exponential. You will have to figure out how to do things yourself. But with the right persistence, you will achieve success over time.

In the second situation, you have more money than time. Or at least access to money. I find this is typically in the top 20% of any industry. The companies that are not struggling with weekly cash flow as much as others. They are not worried about how they will make payroll or how they will make rent. And they are looking to accelerate their growth and speed up their learning curve.

If you are in this second situation, you do not have to figure out how to do certain things over a long period of time. In fact, if you find the “right who,” they will bring “the how” along with them. The best coaches and consultants will tell you how to do something or even do it for you. You don’t have to figure out how a new system, marketing strategy, or financial performance tactic will work because a trusted advisor has already proven it, and by finding this right person to help you, they speed up your growth – even exponentially if done properly.

And this, my friends, is how to grow more rapidly and with less pain from trial and error. For the right dry cleaners, I am the right “who.” I have proven success strategies in operations, marketing, team development, and financial performance. Plus, I help our clients navigate the challenging entrepreneurial journey of being a business owner.

Am I cheap? No. It has cost me a lot of time and money to achieve the success I’ve had and am having, and I have made that investment of time and money. And I want to share all that I’ve learned with you. I have never had someone quit one of my Mastermind groups. Not yet, at least – and I hope it stays that way. This means there is real, effective value happening from a “who” (me) that is saving a lot of our members time figuring out the “how.”

Finally, what is the cost of learning it all yourself? I will tell you. Time is the cost. And some would argue that time is much more valuable than money. If you have a lot of time to kill, settle in and focus on learning as you go. You will achieve great things over time. However, if you want to speed up your success, reach out to my assistant Aimee to book a complimentary call with you and me. Her email is [email protected], and I am excited to see you on my calendar soon so I can fast-track your success!

Whenever you struggle with getting something done, ask yourself, “who, not how.” Be careful choosing the right who, and make sure they can bring the how with them when they work with you.
