The Weight Nobody Sees
From The Playbook
I was talking with a business owner recently, and somewhere in the conversation he said,
"I'm tired."
Not frustrated.
Not overwhelmed.
Just... tired.
And I knew exactly what he meant.
Not the kind of tired that comes from a long week or a few late nights.
The kind that comes from carrying things for a long time.
Most people see the business.
They see the building, the team, the clients, the trucks, and maybe even the numbers.
What they don't see is everything the owner carries that never shows up on a financial statement.
The conversation you've been putting off.
The employee you're worried about.
The decision you know needs to be made.
The client issue that follows you home.
The quiet pressure of knowing people are depending on you.
I've noticed something over the years.
Most owners don't complain much.
They solve the problem in front of them, move on to the next one, and keep going.
That's one of the reasons they become successful.
But sometimes that same strength makes it difficult to admit when something feels heavy.
You get so used to carrying the weight that eventually it feels normal.
Not because it got lighter.
Because you've learned to live with it.
I think that's why it's important to stop every once in a while and acknowledge what you're carrying.
Not so you can feel sorry for yourself.
So you can decide what no longer belongs on your shoulders.
Because just because you've gotten used to carrying the weight...
Doesn't mean you were ever meant to carry it alone.
Make Your Move
Take ten quiet minutes this week and ask yourself one simple question:
"What's one thing I've been carrying that I shouldn't be carrying anymore?"
Maybe it's a decision you've been avoiding.
Maybe it's a responsibility someone else is ready to own.
Maybe it's simply admitting that you don't have to solve every problem yourself.
Sometimes progress doesn't come from doing more.
Sometimes it comes from putting something down.
Your Next Step
One of the things I enjoy most about talking with business owners is helping them realize they don't have to figure everything out on their own.
Every conversation starts the same way: learning where you are today, where you want your business to go, and what kind of life you're trying to build along the way.
From there, we can explore whether Maverick Growth is the right next step for you.
If it is, we'll show you what that journey looks like.
If it isn't, we'll point you in the right direction.
