Are You a Pain Detective?

Sep 28, 2023

The best marketers and business owners are pain detectives.
They seek out pain others are feeling, then they create a solution to help others with their pain.
People who are in survival mode and in pain, are not very good at solving their own pain. Trust me. I’ve been there many times. So have you.
They might not even know there is a way out of their pain.
So instead of solving it themselves, they do their best to just get through each and every day. The person in pain is literally treading water and cannot see a way out.
The analogy of a person in a jar who cannot fix their problem because they cannot read the label on the jar (because they are in it) tells this story very well. Let’s say the solution to the problem is printed on the label.
It takes someone else to read the label and communicate it to the person inside the jar.
As a marketer and business owner, you are the person outside the jar who knows the solution on the label of the jar and your client is the person in the jar.
If your marketing is done right, you will show empathy for the person in the jar, understanding all their pain, maybe even agitating it a little.
Then you will share the solution and give them an opportunity to reach out for the solution you have given them.
When you get good at this, you actually go looking for people in pain, so you can share your solution with them. You become a pain detective.
What pain do our clients have? A lot.
They are short on time. Really short.
They question themselves and their self-confidence.
They are uncertain if they are doing everything they can to protect their families by keeping their homes clean and sanitary.
I am pretty sure you can help these people with all of this pain.
Your services offer the solution to their problems.
Now, all you have to do is go out and look for those people who need your solution.
Then go look for more pain you can solve.
Have a great day, my friend!
