The Experience They Remember
From The Playbook
Every once in a while, you walk into a business and something just feels different.
You can’t always explain why.
The building isn’t necessarily nicer. The prices aren’t lower. The product may not even be dramatically different.
But somehow, the experience sticks with you.
I’ve thought about that quite a bit because I don’t think businesses become memorable by accident.
Usually, it’s the little things.
Someone greets you by name. The place feels organized. The team seems happy to be there. You ask a question and get the feeling that helping you actually matters.
None of those things are flashy, and most would never make it into an advertisement.
But they’re often the reason people come back.
I’ve always believed people remember how a business made them feel long after they’ve forgotten what they paid.
And I think that’s something we sometimes miss when we talk about marketing.
Marketing isn’t just the email you send, the promotion you run, or what you post on social media.
Marketing is also the story a client tells themselves after doing business with you.
Was it easy?
Did they feel valued?
Did you do what you promised?
Would they want to come back?
Because your marketing doesn’t end when a client walks through the door.
In a lot of ways, that’s where it begins.
And maybe the question worth asking is:
What story are your clients leaving with?
Make Your Move
This week, experience your business from your client’s point of view.
Start at the front door and follow the same journey they do.
Don’t just look for what’s wrong. Pay attention to how the experience feels.
Then identify one small thing you could improve that would make someone think, “They really do things differently here.”
Your Next Step
Creating a better client experience is one part of building a stronger business. The bigger question is how all the pieces, your team, operations, marketing, profitability, and leadership, work together to support where you want to go next.
If you’re ready to think about that next stage of growth, let’s have a conversation.
We’ll learn more about your business, what you’re working toward, and what you want the future to look like. From there, we can talk about Maverick Growth, how we help owners move to that next level, and whether it could be the right fit for you.
